چکیده
Fibromatosis is rare benign tumor of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, causing so-called congenital torticollis in newborns or infants. Until now, etiopathogenic mechanism its occurrence remains poorly understood. Its diagnosis combines clinical examination and ultrasound, which makes it possible to highlight characteristic thickening We report case fibromatosis colli, diagnosed by six-week-old infant with no particular history whose spontaneous evolution was towards total regression after months without having resort any treatment.

A Rare Cervical Dystonia Mimic in Adults: Congenital Muscular Torticollis (Fibromatosis colli), a Follow-up
Neglected or undiagnosed congenital muscular torticollis in adults is quite rare, although it is the third most common congenital deformity in the newborn (1). When left untreated at an early age, deficits in lateral and rotational range of motion can occur along with irreversible facial and skeletal deformities that develop over time. Subtle cases can go unnoticed until early adulthood, with p...
متن کاملA rare cervical dystonia mimic in adults: congenital muscular torticollis (fibromatosis colli)
Congenital muscular torticollis (CMT), also known as fibromatosis colli, is recognized as unilateral contracture and shortening of the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle due to muscle atrophy and interstitial fibrosis, causing ipsilateral head tilt and turn (Do, 2006). Its frequency ranges from 0.3 to 2% in newborns with history of perinatal injury, but it is far less common in adults, who are of...
متن کاملFibromatosis Colli: A Case Report.
Fibromatosis colli or sternocleidomastoid tumor of infancy is a condition of benign proliferation of fibrous tissue within the sternocleidomastoid muscle leading to focal or diffuse enlargement of the sternocleidomastoid muscle and is often clinically associated with torticollis. Radiological imaging especially ultrasound, if performed by an expert radiologist plays an important role in differe...

Background: Osteopoikilosis (OPK) is a rare inherited condition of the bones, transmitted as an autosomal dominant trait characterized by numerous hyperostotic areas that tend to localize in periarticular osseous regions. It is usually asymptomatic and is often diagnosed incidentally during x-rays made by other reasons. We present a case of 34-year-old man suffering from polyarthralgia an...

SUMMARY Grisel's syndrome is an unusual but important cause of torticollis which may be encountered in a pediatric plastic surgery practice, where craniofacial and oropharyngeal surgeries are commonly performed. Grisel's syndrome is characterized by painful torticollis and limited cervical rotation, and the diagnosis is confirmed via radiologic imaging. Initial management of Grisel's syndrome i...
